NOCTURNAL SEIZURES FREE
Ooooppps I have have 14 yrs sober drug free and have / do have all types of szs. I thought gmals were it and for the first yr was blown off and told if I stopped drinking it would be better ? I never knew for yrs that there were other types of szs. I feel like I wrote some of the comments here. WOW wished I could have known some of this yrs ago.? I,m 45 and have had this (szs) for around 15 yrs but I think I have had auras all my life. I am looking around in the forums bumping a few of these wished folks would comment more. I have had this diagnosed as startle seizures, just another hurdle to get over I guess. Stress and tiredness is your worst enemy, I also have found with getting older it has crept into my waking hours in small ways. I have had success with tegretol apart from weight gain and for the last 5 years have been on topamax. Needless to say I have always had a sleeping disorder for fear of a seizure when I was younger but a wonderful Doctor eventually diagnosed me and that helped. It was a slow road travelled to get any Doctor to take me seriously back then. I remember my very first experience and being so scared as a young teenager, my mother taking me off to the Doctor only to be pushed along to a Psychiatrist and my mother being told I was a difficult teenager, and being put on so many drugs and zombied out! I have been having nocturnal seizures for almost 30 years now. I would love to hear from anyone who shares experiences like this. I developed these ten years after having temperal lobe surgery to cure severe epilepsy. I would like to say that I have Simple Partial Seizures in the day time which is what the Keppra was for.
The doctor increased my Keppra Dosage by almost double and I have seen a dramatic decrease in them. I have horrendous vivid nightmares, I wake up aching but not in the sort of pain you all have, I am however very disorientated for a few hours after having these nightmares.
My Neurologists are unsure as to whether I am having Nocturnal Seizures, I seem not to have the classic symptoms that you all have in common. If you have nocturnal Epilepsy, were you cleared to drive? I wish there were more recent comments, but maybe I'll get responses. It will be less than one month and boom!Īnyways, I found this page and I felt a little more relieved. So, as the time limit on being "seizure free" was weeks away, this happened. I just had a seizure last night/this morning around 4 a.m. I am sick of having seizures while I sleep and not being able to drive. I am 21-years-old and having to live by asking my parents for rides to work and school.
